报告题目:RFID-Enabled Real-Time Ubiquitous Manufacturing Platform

演讲者介绍:Prof George Q. Huang joined Department of Industrial and Manufacturing Systems Engineering at HKU in late 1996. With substantial financial supports from various funding sources, Professor Huang has conducted research in collaborative product development, RFID-enabled wireless manufacturing and cross-border logistics. Professor Huang has published extensively in these areas, including two monographs and two edited reference books, and around 300 technical papers half of which have appeared in reputable journals. Professor Huang serves as regional / area / senior editors, associate editors and editorial board members of a number of international journals. Professor Huang is a Chartered Engineer and an elected Fellow of Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET UK) and Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE).

Abstract:

Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) is fast becoming one of the hottest, yet most controversial, technologies in logistics and supply chain management (SCM) in recent years. RFID devices perform non-contact object identification at the point of use across the supply chain. High-performance computing and communication enable the analysis and visualization of real-time data. Real-time information visibility and traceability significantly improves the decision-making and operation of the smart supply chain.

In this talk, Prof Huang will examine recent industrial challenges that manufacturers in the Pearl River Delta (PRD) region are faced with in the SCM context. After presenting the promise of RFID technology and the state-of-the-art R&D activities, he will focus on a number of critical issues that must be addressed when developing and deploying RFID-enabled manufacturing solutions. Insights and lessons learnt from pilot companies will be discussed. Prof Huang will highlight opportunities for conducting more fundamental academic research in this area.

题目是:集装箱港口码头运作方面一些研究进展(Advances in Port Operations at Container Terminals)

摘要:国际航运业的蓬勃发展对集装箱港口的运作管理提出了更高要求,本报告将介绍码头运作(Port Operation)方面一些研究进展,内容主要涉及:(1)自动化码头系统发展现状与趋势,未来港口设计的一些新概念模型;并以一个具体的自动化码头系统为例,提出了性能分析模型与设计方法论。(2)面向港口设计的自动化仿真优化平台。港口运营商可以通过该平台,根据设计目标,快速的生成一系列仿真模型,进而优化港口总体设计中的一些基本参数。(3)码头运作中一些运筹调度问题研究,比如:到港船舶的泊位分配与堆场位置分配的联合优化模型,考虑随机到港时间与装卸时间的泊位分配方法,等。
